MUMBAI, India, March 13 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202621009361 A) filed by Marwadi University, Rajkot, Gujarat, on Jan. 29, for 'automated vehicle inspection device.'

Inventor(s) include Chetankumar Chudasama; Gaurav Kumar; and Prince Kumar.

The application for the patent was published on March 13, under issue no. 11/2026.

According to the abstract released by the Intellectual Property India: "An automated vehicle inspection device, comprises of a mobile chassis 101 having a plurality of wheels 102 for autonomous movement over a surface, a sensor array 103 via an articulated robotic arm 104 to perform a non-destructive analysis of a vehicle's exterior, a wireless OBD-II adapter to retrieve diagnostic data from the vehicle's electronic control modules, an automated document verification chamber 105 to analyze a document of the vehicle, a biometric authentication unit 106 to verify an identity of an owner, an identification number verification module 109 to use optical character recognition to extract a Vehicle Identification Number (VIN), a robotic crawler 110 equipped with a camera 111, to inspect an underbody of the vehicle and an inspection module 113 comprising at least one of a ground-penetrating radar sensor, an eddy current testing probe, or a borescope camera to detect structural integrity of the vehicle."
