MUMBAI, India, Sept. 26 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202411020724 A) filed by Chandigarh Group Of Colleges, Mohali, Punjab, on March 19, 2024, for 'automated vehicle drag force reduction device.'
Inventor(s) include Narinder Kumar; Ramandeep Deorda; Simranjot Singh; and Sukhnik Singh.
The application for the patent was published on Sept. 26, under issue no. 39/2025.
According to the abstract released by the Intellectual Property India: "An automated vehicle drag force reduction device comprise of an inverted U-shaped extendable frame 1 positioned on gate of trailer portion of a transporting vehicle, multiple suction units arranged on frame 1 for affixing with surface of the trailer portion to secure the frame 1, an artificial intelligence-based imaging unit 2 installed on the frame 1 to detect dimensions of the trailer portion, a drawer arrangement 3 integrated in the frame 1 to extend/retract for properly accommodating the frame 1, a telescopically operated bar 4 arranged with the frame 1 to extend towards mid portion of the trailer, an electromagnetically powered clamp 5 energizes the clamps 5 for bearing various vibrations and force of drag when the vehicle is in motion, and a motorized hinge joints 8 integrated with the plate 6 to modulate shape of the plate 6 for minimizing drag on the vehicle."
