MUMBAI, India, Oct. 31 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202411024046 A) filed by Sanskriti University, Mathura, Uttar Pradesh, on March 26, 2024, for 'automated underwater plant cutting and storage device.'
Inventor(s) include Dr. Dijendra Kumar; and Dr. Meenakshi Sharma.
The application for the patent was published on Oct. 31, under issue no. 44/2025.
According to the abstract released by the Intellectual Property India: "An automated underwater plant cutting and storage device, comprising a frame 1 developed to be positioned over water body, motorized propellers 2 to provide movement to the body on water body, ballast tank 3 to adjust fluid level within tank 3 and submerge the frame 1 within the water body, AI based imaging unit 4 for detecting exact location of the plants, motorized slider crank arrangement 6 to provide linear reciprocator movement to a motorized cutter, motorized cutter 7 to cut plants present on the water bed, suction unit 8 to capture retain cut plants, chamber 9 for storing cut plants, telescopic pusher 10 to squeeze collected plants and remove excess water from the plants and perforations allowing water to drain through perforations to remove extra water from the chamber."
