MUMBAI, India, Oct. 11 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202411020035 A) filed by Shobhit Institute Of Engineering & Technology, Meerut, Uttar Pradesh, on March 18, 2024, for 'automated tree stump removal device.'

Inventor(s) include Raj Kishore Singh; Jayanta Kumar Mahato; Shoyab Hussain; and Jitendra Kumar Singh Jadon.

The application for the patent was published on Oct. 10, under issue no. 41/2025.

According to the abstract released by the Intellectual Property India: "An automated tree stump removal device, comprises of a housing 1 developed to be positioned on a ground surface having tree stump, a camera 2 mounted on the housing 1 to capture images of the surrounding for detecting exact location of the tree stump, plurality of motorized omnidirectional wheels 3 configured underneath the housing 1 for translating and positioning the housing 1 in proximity to the tree stump, a hydraulic bar configured with the housing 1 via a scotch-yoke arrangement and equipped with a drilling pin 5 for providing a rotational motion to the bar to gradually extend for piercing the tree stump via the drilling pin 5 and a pair of pneumatic blades 6 configured with the drilling pin 5 to gradually extend in accordance to dimensions of the tree stump thereby completely removing the tree stump."
