MUMBAI, India, Aug. 1 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202411005328 A) filed by Chandigarh University; and Chandigarh University Technology Business Incubator, Mohali, Punjab, on Jan. 25, 2024, for 'automated transplanting assistive device.'

The application for the patent was published on Aug. 1, under issue no. 31/2025.
According to the abstract released by the Intellectual Property India: "An automated transplanting assistive device, comprises of a hemi-spherical shaped frame 1 developed to be positioned on a ground surface and configured with multiple rods 2 that provides support to frame 1 on the surface, an inlet 5 crafted on frame 1 to enable user to put tree/plant within the frame 1, a touch interactive display panel 3 accessed by user to input details regarding type of tree/plant, a motorized iris lid 4 to open/close and secure plant/tree inside frame 1, an artificial intelligence based imaging unit 6 to determine type of plant/tree, a pair of motorized clippers 9 arranged on sliding unit 7 to deploy multiple sheets around frame 1 for allowing user to fill soil inside the frame 1, a user interface accessed by user to input location where the tree is to be relocated and multiple wheels 8 to relocate the frame 1 at user-defined location."
