MUMBAI, India, Oct. 11 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202411020149 A) filed by Chandigarh University; and Chandigarh University Technology Business Incubator, Mohali, Punjab, on March 18, 2024, for 'automated traffic management system.'

The application for the patent was published on Oct. 10, under issue no. 41/2025.

According to the abstract released by the Intellectual Property India: "An automated traffic management system comprises a platform 1 configured with an artificial intelligence-based imaging unit 2 detects average height of pedestrians and traffic, a drawer arrangement 4 integrated within an elongated cylindrical body 3 extend/ retract the body 3 for an optimum height of the body 3, a color sensor determine color of light on a traffic signal post, a pair of primary motorized pivot joints 7 work in synchronization with a pair of secondary motorized pivot joints 8 integrated with the members 6 providing movement to a plate 5, a pair of speakers 9 produces audio alert, an ultrasonic sensor detects direction and density of traffic on the road, a motorized pin joint 10 allowing rotational movement of the body 3, plurality of proximity sensor monitors distance of approaching vehicles, an LDR detects intensity of light, and plurality of LED 11 lights facilitating visibility at low light condition."
