MUMBAI, India, Nov. 21 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202411025611 A) filed by Shobhit Institute Of Engineering & Technology, Meerut, Uttar Pradesh, on March 28, 2024, for 'automated traction enhancement device for heavy vehicles.'
Inventor(s) include Shikha Chaudhary; Dipika Sharma; Sandeep Kumar; and Rajul Dutt.

According to the abstract released by the Intellectual Property India: "An automated traction enhancement device for heavy vehicles comprises of a frame 1 installed underneath chassis of a heavy vehicle, an accelerometer installed on the frame 1 for monitoring rotational speed of the double tyre, an artificial intelligence-based imaging unit 3 installed on the frame 1 to determine gapping in between the double tyres, an ultrasonic sensor is integrated on the frame 1 for monitoring distance in between actuator 2 and gapping and a hydraulically operated actuator 2 is arranged on the frame 1 to extend in a downward direction for orienting end of the actuator 2 in the determined gapping, an angle sensor for monitoring angle of the wheel 4 with respect to the tyre, and an expandable pulley arrangement 5 to expand in a manner that sides of the wheel 4 is in contact with each of the tyres of double tyre."
