MUMBAI, India, Nov. 7 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202411024903 A) filed by Chandigarh University; and Chandigarh University Technology Business Incubator, Mohali, Punjab, on March 27, 2024, for 'automated tile spacer installation device.'

Inventor(s) include Harbinder Singh.

The application for the patent was published on Nov. 7, under issue no. 45/2025.

According to the abstract released by the Intellectual Property India: "An automated tile spacer installation device, comprising a housing 1 positioned over a ground surface layered with tiles, touch interactive display panel 3 enable a user to provide input regrading installation of tile spacers in between the tiles to maintain a specific distance in between the tiles, artificial intelligence based imaging unit 4 for capturing images of said tiles to determine dimension of intermediate space of the tiles, Omni-directional wheels 2 provide translation to the housing 1 over the tiles and position over the detected gapping, chamber 5 for storing tile spacers, robotic gripper 6 to accesses the chamber 5 to withdraw one of the spacer and mount in the gapping at a pre-defined distance, motorized cutter 7 to cut detected portion of the mounted spacers, container 9 stored with grout filler mixture and electronic nozzle 10 to dispense a regulate amount of the mixture within the gapping."
