MUMBAI, India, April 20 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202411073977 A) filed by Chandigarh Group Of Colleges, Mohali, Punjab, on Sept. 30, 2024, for 'automated ticks removal device for pet animals.'
Inventor(s) include Dr. Ankita Dadwal; Dr. Priyanka Dhiman; and Ramandeep Singh.
The application for the patent was published on April 17, under issue no. 16/2026.
According to the abstract released by the Intellectual Property India: "An automated ticks removal device for pet animals, comprising a cuboidal body 1 developed to accommodate a pet animal, a touch enabled screen 2 installed on the body 1 for enabling a user to give input commands, a camera 3 mounted within the body 1 for detecting dimensions of the animal, a C-shaped clamping unit 4 installed on the body 1 and is positioned over neck portion of the animal to grip neck portion of the animal, a motorized slider crank arrangement 5 assembled within the body 1 microcontroller for providing linear reciprocatory movement to a comb-shaped structure 6 integrated on the arrangement along the fur of pet for facilitating in removal of ticks and a container 8 stored with pet food positioned within the body 1 for keeping the animal engaged during removal of the ticks."
