MUMBAI, India, April 20 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202411073968 A) filed by Chandigarh Group Of Colleges, Mohali, Punjab, on Sept. 30, 2024, for 'automated tea bag handling device for tumblers.'

According to the abstract released by the Intellectual Property India: "An automated tea bag handling device for tumblers, comprising a plate 1 accessed by a user for mounting the plate 1 over a tumbler, artificial intelligence-based imaging unit 2 for capturing images in vicinity of the plate 1 to determine thickness of rim portion of the tumbler, motorized clippers 3 to acquire a grip on the tumbler in view of installing the plate 1 over the tumbler, slit 4 is accessed by the user for engaging string of a tea bag on the tumbler, clamping units 5 to engage the tea bag with the plate 1, motorized sliding units 6 to translate the clamping units 5 for dipping the tea bag in the liquid repeatedly, speaker 7 notifies to the user regarding preparation level of the tea and microphone 8 for receiving voice command of the user regarding stopping or continuing dipping of the tea bag in the liquid."
