MUMBAI, India, Nov. 14 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202411025490 A) filed by Chandigarh Group Of Colleges, Mohali, Punjab, on March 28, 2024, for 'automated tarp sheet spreading device.'

Inventor(s) include Dr. Tejinder Pal Singh Brar; Anuradha Saini; Sourabh Gorssi; and Vikas Gulia.

The application for the patent was published on Nov. 14, under issue no. 46/2025.

According to the abstract released by the Intellectual Property India: "An automated tarp sheet spreading device, comprising frame 1 developed to be positioned on ground surface, touch interactive display panel 2 that is accessed by user for providing input regarding area of ground surface over which tarp sheet is to be spread, artificial intelligence-based imaging unit 3 for capturing and processing multiple images in vicinity of the frame 1, motorized roller 4 to rotate for unwrapping tarp sheet coiled on the roller 4, hydraulically operated clamping units 5 for applying pressure on the unwrapped sheet in view of laying the sheet on the surface, motorized gripper 6 installed on frame 1 and integrated with blade 8 to cut the sheet in view of detaching the laid sheet from the frame 1 and a motorized ball and socket joint 7 for providing angular movement to the roller 4 in order to align the roller 4 appropriately with respect to the surface."
