MUMBAI, India, Oct. 31 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202411023568 A) filed by Sanskriti University, Mathura, Uttar Pradesh, on March 25, 2024, for 'automated tap aerator maintenance device.'
Inventor(s) include Neeraj Chaurasia; and Dr. Jaydip Kumar.
The application for the patent was published on Oct. 31, under issue no. 44/2025.
According to the abstract released by the Intellectual Property India: "An automated tap aerator maintenance device, comprising an elongated body 1 having a first and second end affixed on a water sink in proximity to a water tap, an artificial intelligence-based imaging unit 4 determines dimensions of aerator of tap, a pair of clamps 5 fastens a looped strap engaged between clamps 5 over aerator, a motorized roller 6 coiled with strap for tightening/loosening strap for adhering strap over aerator, a motorized ball and socket joint 7 for unfastening aerator from tap, a motorized gripper 8 acquires grip over unfastened aerator, a color sensor monitors presence of contaminants including dirt/algae deposited on net of aerator, an extendable brush performs cleaning of net, plurality of hollow bristles 9 linked with a vacuum pump extracts contaminants from aerator, a blade 10 cuts net in order to detach net from aerator, a speaker 11 notifies user regarding removal of net from aerator."
