MUMBAI, India, Aug. 1 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202411005865 A) filed by Chandigarh Group Of Colleges, Mohali, Punjab, on Jan. 29, 2024, for 'automated tailgate strut replacing device.'
Inventor(s) include Kamalpreet Kaur; Rohini; Poonam Gupta; and Aarju.
The application for the patent was published on Aug. 1, under issue no. 31/2025.
According to the abstract released by the Intellectual Property India: "The present invention relates to an automated tailgate strut replacing device, comprising a platform 1 configured with multiple telescopic rods 2 each attached with a motorized wheel 3 for maneuvering the platform 1 on ground surface, an imaging unit 4 mounted on the platform 1 to determine height of a vehicle's tailgate, a robotic gripper 5 arranged on the platform 1 for pulling the tailgate, a robotic link 6 assembled with an electric wrench 7 for removing the nut, a multi-sectioned chamber 8 assembled on the platform 1 storing multiple hydraulic struts and a leakage detection sensor 9 installed on the platform 1 for detecting leakage of hydraulic fluid during extension or retraction of the fresh strut."
