MUMBAI, India, May 1 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202611022615 A) filed by Chitkara University, Rajpura, Punjab, on Feb. 25, for 'automated system for accommodation measurement of the eyes.'

Inventor(s) include Sonali Gupta; Nikit Kundra; Anshika Rana; and Dr. Renu Thakur.

The application for the patent was published on May 1, under issue no. 18/2026.

According to the abstract released by the Intellectual Property India: "An automated system for accommodation measurement of the eyes, the system comprising a wearable headset 101 to be worn by a patient during eye tests, a motorized rack 102 to automatically shift a target forward or backwards based on type of eye test to be conducted, a near point of convergence (NPC) plate 103 to assess the closest point at which both eyes can maintain single, aligned vision, a near point of accommodation (NPA) plate 104 to measure the nearest point at which the eyes can maintain clear focus, a plurality of high contrast target strips 107 to provide clear visual reference patterns that enhance focus and measurement accuracy, a pair of neutral density (ND) filter 108 to adjust ambient light level, and an eye tracker 109 on the headset 101 above visual axis of eye to record eye position and movement."
