MUMBAI, India, Aug. 8 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202411006928 A) filed by Chandigarh Group Of Colleges, Mohali, Punjab, on Feb. 1, 2024, for 'automated surface refining device for ceramic objects.'

Inventor(s) include Ramandeep Singh Deorda; Ravinder Singh; Dheeraj Kumar Gautam; and Gurjesh Singh Chib.

The application for the patent was published on Aug. 8, under issue no. 32/2025.

According to the abstract released by the Intellectual Property India: "An automated surface refining device for ceramic objects, comprises of a housing 1 installed on a fixed surface, an inlet 2 assembled with a motorized first conveyor belt 3 accessed by a user for accommodating a ceramic object that further translates object within housing 1, a motorized circular sliding unit 4 attached with a plate 5 over which accommodated object is translated, an imaging unit 7 for determining dimensions of accommodated object, a telescopically operated rod 8 for positioning a motorized roller 9 in proximity to object for rubbing an abrasive material 10 over object in order to smoothen out surface of object, a motorized ball and socket joint 11 for providing tilting movement to plate 5, a sensing module for monitoring object's surface and a motorized second conveyor belt 12 for translating object outside of housing 1 by means of an outlet 13."
