MUMBAI, India, April 17 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202621013438 A) filed by Gokul Global University, Patan, Gujarat, on Feb. 7, for 'automated surface painting device.'

Inventor(s) include Pratikkumar S. Shata.

The application for the patent was published on April 17, under issue no. 16/2026.

According to the abstract released by the Intellectual Property India: "An automated surface painting device, comprises of a platform 101 to be placed over surface, an imaging unit 102 for detailed 3D mapping of surroundings, an input means paired with platform to provide inputs,a mobility module including motorized wheel assembly 103 with plurality of extendable rods to provide smooth mobility of platform, a paint dispensing module, including multi-sectioned chamber 104, an electronically controlled nozzle 105, a conduit 106 and an articulated arm 107 configured to dispense paint on target area, a spreading module including a horizontal frame 108 having a dual-axis slider 109 at tip, a wedge-shaped plate 110 linked with slider via a motorized ball-and-socket joint, configured to uniformly spread the dispensed paint over the surface, an articulated air blower 111 installed over the platform to maintain optimal painting conditions, a laser scanner mounted on a motorized gimbal and a hyperspectral camera, to analyse surface texture for consistent coverage."
