MUMBAI, India, Aug. 1 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202411005869 A) filed by Chandigarh Group Of Colleges, Mohali, Punjab, on Jan. 29, 2024, for 'automated surface cleaning device.'

Inventor(s) include Kiran Bala; Khushi; Sakshi Sharma; and Ritesh Kumar.

The application for the patent was published on Aug. 1, under issue no. 31/2025.

According to the abstract released by the Intellectual Property India: "An automated surface cleaning device comprises of a platform 1 arranged with multiple rods 2 that provides support to platform 1 on a surface, a motorized wheel 3 for providing movement to platform 1 on surface, an imaging unit 4 for capturing images of surface based on which an inbuilt microcontroller evaluates a 3D mapping of surface, a display panel 5 for displaying mapping and also accessed by user to input details, an ultrasonic sensor for detecting distance between platform 1 and user specified portion, a heating coil 6 embedded inside a water reservoir 7 for heating water upto a threshold limit, a first robotic link 8 for moving a cylindrical member 9 over surface, multiple electronic nozzle 10 for dispensing hot water on surface that aids in loosening of paint applied on surface and a second robotic link 11 for scraping paint by means of a motorized brush 12."
