MUMBAI, India, Nov. 21 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202411025598 A) filed by Shobhit Institute Of Engineering & Technology, Meerut, Uttar Pradesh, on March 28, 2024, for 'automated sugarcane cultivation device.'

Inventor(s) include Sahdev Singh; Vikas Yadav; Alpana Joshi; and Vikas Kumar.

The application for the patent was published on Nov. 21, under issue no. 47/2025.

According to the abstract released by the Intellectual Property India: "An automated sugarcane cultivation device comprises a body 1 installed with an artificial intelligence-based imaging unit 2 monitors surrounding of the body 1, plurality of motorized wheels 3 arranged underneath the body 1 moves the body 1, an elongated curved plate 4 arranged at the body 1 by means of a hinged link 5 orients the plate 4, a pair of curved flaps 7 arranged on the body 1 through a pair of motorized pin joints 8 providing converging/diverging movement to the flaps 7, a storage chamber 9 mounted at the body 1 and integrated with a motorized lid 10 to dispense sugarcane stalk from the chamber 9, a motorized conveyer belt 11 arranged on the body 1 translating the fragment from the chamber 9 towards the plate 4, and a pair of motorized clamps 12 arranged at the front portion to acquire a grip on the dispensed fragment."
