MUMBAI, India, Aug. 1 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202411006630 A) filed by Chandigarh Group Of Colleges, Mohali, Punjab, on Jan. 31, 2024, for 'automated subsurface drilling equipment maintenance device.'

According to the abstract released by the Intellectual Property India: "An automated subsurface drilling equipment maintenance device, comprising a platform 1 configured with multiple legs 2 developed to be positioned on a ground surface, a slot 3 enabling a user to position a subsurface drilling equipment over slot 3, an artificial intelligence-based imaging unit 4 determine any fault within a drilling bits of equipment for actuating a welding unit 6 for positioning the welding unit 6 over faulty drill bits, a magneto inductive sensor detecting sharpness of drill bits for actuating L-shaped telescopic rod 7 for positioning tarnishing unit 8 for grinding drill bits, a dust sensor detecting any presence of dust over equipment for actuating an air blower 9 for removing detected dust, and a chamber 10 stored with cleaning solution for dispensing an appropriate amount of cleaning solution over equipment to polish equipment as required by user."
