MUMBAI, India, Oct. 11 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202411019721 A) filed by Sanskriti University, Mathura, Uttar Pradesh, on March 17, 2024, for 'automated steering cover installation device.'

Inventor(s) include Dr. Arvind Kumar; and Dr. Anil Kumar Singh.

The application for the patent was published on Oct. 10, under issue no. 41/2025.

According to the abstract released by the Intellectual Property India: "An automated steering cover installation device, comprises of a body 1 installed with an artificial intelligence-based camera 2 in sync with a light detection and ranging arrangement for determining dimension of the steering wheel, a circular structure 3 configured with an expendable pulley arrangement 4 attached with the body 1 to expend the structure 3 for accommodated over the steering wheel to secure the cover over the wheel, a pair of telescopically operated clamps 5 attached at periphery of the structure 3 to clamp 5 edges of the cover, a sewing unit 6 attached with the structure 3 to sew edge of the cover, and a pressure sensor installed over the needle to measure pressure exerted by the sewing unit 6 over the cover while sewing."
