MUMBAI, India, Oct. 31 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202411024668 A) filed by Sanskriti University, Mathura, Uttar Pradesh, on March 27, 2024, for 'automated slate roof maintenance device.'

Inventor(s) include Arvind Kumar; and Dr. Rohit Sharma.

The application for the patent was published on Oct. 31, under issue no. 44/2025.

According to the abstract released by the Intellectual Property India: "An automated slate roof maintenance device comprises a body 1 configured with plurality of extendable linkages 2 each integrated with a castor wheel 3 for moving the body 1 on the surface to reach over a slate roof, an artificial intelligence-based imaging unit 4 monitors surrounding of the body 1, an IR sensor detects defect in tile of the roof, an ultrasonic sensor monitors distance in between the body 1 and location of the detected defect, a motorized first gripper 5 integrated with a screw driver to drill a nail over the tiles, a telescopically operated L-shaped rod 6 arranged on the body 1 positioning a motorized cutting blade 7 in proximity to a protruded portion of tiles, an electronically controlled nozzle 9 dispense an adhesive sealant solution stored in a container 8 over a crack, and a motorized second gripper 10 positions a flap 11."
