MUMBAI, India, Aug. 8 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202411007026 A) filed by Chandigarh Group Of Colleges, Mohali, Punjab, on Feb. 2, 2024, for 'automated skipping rope holding device for disabled.'
Inventor(s) include Dr. Shweta Lamba; Mandeep Kaur; Dr. Amresh Kumar; and Satwinder Singh.
The application for the patent was published on Aug. 8, under issue no. 32/2025.
According to the abstract released by the Intellectual Property India: "An automated skipping rope holding device for disabled, comprising a wearable body 1 attached with a pair of straps 2 accommodated over a user's waist portion, a laser sensor 3 installed on the body 1 detecting waist dimension, an imaging unit 4 mounted on the body 1 detecting positioning of user's handicapped hand, a motorized slider 5 arranged on the body 1 for positioning a telescopic rod 6 attached with the slider 5 towards the handicapped hand, a motorized roller 7 arranged on the rod 6 pre-wrapped with a skipping rope 8 and attached with a handle 9 for allowing user to perform skipping activity, a slider crank arrangement 10 configured between the roller 7 and rod 6 for rotating the roller 7 and a cushioned member 11 arranged on the body 1 providing comfort over user's waist portion."
