MUMBAI, India, Nov. 7 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202411025420 A) filed by Chandigarh University; and Chandigarh University Technology Business Incubator, Mohali, Punjab, on March 28, 2024, for 'automated shutter rail cleaning assistive device.'

According to the abstract released by the Intellectual Property India: "An automated shutter rail cleaning assistive device comprises a body 1 with plurality of wheels 2 for moving the body 1, an artificial intelligence-based imaging unit 3 to determine positioning of sliding rails of a shutter gate, a dust sensor for monitoring presence of dust/dirt deposited on the rails, an ultrasonic sensor for monitoring distance of the body 1 from the rails, a motorized gripper 4 for positioning a cleaning brush 5 with plurality of electronically controlled valves 6 to dispense a cleaning solution stored in a chamber on the rails and suction units to extract scrubbed off dirt from rails and store in a container, a motorized ball and socket joint 7 to provide angular movement to brush 5 against rails an angle sensor for monitoring alignment of rails and a computing unit 8 to generate an alert notification regarding detected misalignment."
