MUMBAI, India, Nov. 28 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202411026053 A) filed by Chandigarh University; and Chandigarh University Technology Business Incubator, Mohali, Punjab, on March 29, 2024, for 'automated shoe removing device.'

The application for the patent was published on Nov. 28, under issue no. 48/2025.
According to the abstract released by the Intellectual Property India: "An automated shoe removing device, comprising a platform 1 positioned over a ground surface, a C-shaped member 2 configured with the platform 1 to accommodate rear portion of a shoe worn by a user that is to be removed, a microphone 3 installed over the platform 1 to receive voice command of the user, an artificial intelligence based imaging unit 4 installed over the platform 1 to determine dimensions of the shoe, an L-shaped extendable link 5 installed in the member 2 to extend and accommodate base portion of the shoe, plurality of suction units 6 arranged over the member 2 and link 5 to grip the rear portion of the shoe in a secured manner and a robotic gripper 7 installed over the platform 1 to open knot in view of loosening grip of the grip over the user's foot."
