MUMBAI, India, Sept. 26 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202411018859 A) filed by Teerthanker Mahaveer University, Moradabad, Uttar Pradesh, on March 14, 2024, for 'automated shirt cuffs cutting device.'

The application for the patent was published on Sept. 26, under issue no. 39/2025.
According to the abstract released by the Intellectual Property India: "An automated shirt cuffs cutting device comprises of a platform 1 positioned on fixed surface and developed to be placed with a shirt, a touch enabled screen 2 to give input commands for cutting cuffs of the shirt and selecting a design in which the cuffs are to be cut, a camera 3 for detecting cuffs of the shirt, a robotic arm 4 for gripping the cuffs of the shirt, a set of motorized clamps 5 for gripping the cuffs in a secured manner, an L-shaped telescopically operated link to retract for pulling the clamps 5 away from each other, and a pneumatic blade 7 via a two-axis lead screw arrangement 8 for moving the blade 7 for proper cutting of the cuffs, and a two-axis lead screw arrangement 8 for providing a suitable bi-directional motion to the blade 7 for cutting the cuffs in the user-selected design."
