MUMBAI, India, Sept. 26 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202411019164 A) filed by Teerthanker Mahaveer University, Moradabad, Uttar Pradesh, on March 15, 2024, for 'automated seed removing device for agricultural produce.'

The application for the patent was published on Sept. 26, under issue no. 39/2025.

According to the abstract released by the Intellectual Property India: "An automated seed removing device for agricultural produce, comprising a housing 1, an L-shaped frame 2 is arranged with housing 1, a cavity 3 accessed by a user to accommodate an agricultural produce from which seed are to be removed, an artificial intelligence based imaging unit 4 determines dimension of produce and accordingly actuates multiple telescopic grippers 5 to extend in a manner to grip produce in a secured manner, a pressure sensor monitors pressure applied by grippers 5, an telescopic rod 6 extend to position a curved blade 7 in cutting of produce followed by extension of rod 6 to detach and extract seeds present within produce, a motorized conveyor 9 provide translation to seeds in order to transfer seeds, and a weight sensor monitor weight of seed being collected within chamber 10 for actuating a speaker to notify user."
