MUMBAI, India, Jan. 9 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202511113447 A) filed by Shree Guru Gobind Singh Tricentenary University, Gurugram, Haryana, on Nov. 18, 2025, for 'automated sediment management and water regulation system.'

According to the abstract released by the Intellectual Property India: "An automated sediment management and water regulation system, comprising a rectangular frame 101 installed with a gate of a bypass tunnel, a sensing unit 201 to analyse water inflow patterns, sediment transport behaviour, and operational parameters, a pair of cascading enabled door 102 to open and close for maintaining controlled passage of water, a pair of vertical slider 103, enabling upward and downward movement of a mesh gate 104 to open/lower fully, a sediment lifting unit 105 to lift the sediment along with regulating water discharge, a conveyor 202 to receive the sediment from the lifting unit 105 and transfer sediments for further processing, a segregating unit 203 to selective segregate biodegradable and non-biodegradable materials, a transferring unit 204 to horizontally transfer sorted materials into a storage unit 205, and an inspection unit 206 to detect anomalies and trigger maintenance alerts."
