MUMBAI, India, Sept. 26 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202411018187 A) filed by Teerthanker Mahaveer University, Moradabad, Uttar Pradesh, on March 13, 2024, for 'automated screw thread crafting device.'
Inventor(s) include Arun Gupta.
The application for the patent was published on Sept. 26, under issue no. 39/2025.
According to the abstract released by the Intellectual Property India: "An automated screw thread crafting device includes a cylindrical structure frame 1 developed to be hand-held by the user and arranged with a motorized clamping unit 2 to engage the workpiece, a touch interactive display panel 3 arranged on the first cylindrical frame 1 that is accessed by user, a second cylinder 4 arranged within the first cylindrical structure 1 and connected with a rotatable arrangement, a plurality of hydraulic link 5 installed on second cylinder 4 to position tooltip on the surface of the workpiece, a motorized hinge joint 6 between tool and hydraulic link 5 tilt the tooltip on workpiece, once tooltip positioned the rotatory arrangement connected with the second cylinder 4 moves in downward direction along the workpiece to craft thread, an ultrasonic sensor integrated on first cylinder 1 measures dimension of workpiece."
