MUMBAI, India, Oct. 31 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202411023602 A) filed by Sanskriti University, Mathura, Uttar Pradesh, on March 25, 2024, for 'automated sand-bedding device for interlocking tiles.'

According to the abstract released by the Intellectual Property India: "An automated sand-bedding device for interlocking tiles, comprising a cuboidal body 1 positioned on a surface laid with interlocking tiles, an artificial intelligence-based imaging unit 2 installed with the body 1 to generate a 3D (three-dimensional) map of surroundings which is displayed over a touch enabled screen 3 installed on the body 1, a storage chamber 4 configured within the body 1 and stored with sand, a motorized disc 5 installed with the body 1 equipped with plurality of bristles to rotate for dispersing the sand over the tiles, a rectangular flap 6 attached with the body 1 to provide thumping movement in order to level the uneven portion and a speaker 7 mounted on the body 1 for notifying the user to re-fill the chamber 4 with sand."
