MUMBAI, India, Oct. 24 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202411023497 A) filed by Teerthanker Mahaveer University, Moradabad, Uttar Pradesh, on March 25, 2024, for 'automated roofing sheet bending device.'

According to the abstract released by the Intellectual Property India: "An automated roofing sheet bending device, comprising a body 1 installed on rooftop of a building/ house installed with roofing sheets, plurality of telescopically operated rods 2 supports the body 1 over surface of the rooftop, an artificial intelligence-based imaging unit 3 determines location of the surface area where the sheets are to be bent, plurality of motorized wheels 4 fabricated with multiple grooves moves the body 1 towards the determined location, a two-axis lead screw arrangement 7 positions a motorized cutter attached in proximity to the roofing sheets, a pair of robotic arms 10 installed on said body 1 and integrated with a C-shaped member 11 grips said sheet in a secured manner, a tactile sensor detects hardness of the sheet, ultrasonic sensor detects thickness of the sheet, a motorized ball and socket joint 9 provides movement to the member 11 for bending the protruded sheet."
