MUMBAI, India, Nov. 7 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202411024925 A) filed by Chandigarh University; and Chandigarh University Technology Business Incubator, Mohali, Punjab, on March 27, 2024, for 'automated road rolling drum repairing device.'

The application for the patent was published on Nov. 7, under issue no. 45/2025.
According to the abstract released by the Intellectual Property India: "An automated road rolling drum repairing device, comprises of a cuboidal body positioned over a ground surface in proximity to a road rolling drum that is to be repaired, an artificial intelligence based imaging unit for detecting location of center shaft of the drum, a motorized jack installed between each of the clamps and body to elevate the clamps in a manner to lift the drum from the surface, a LiDAR sensor to monitor surface leveling of the drum, a linear to provide reciprocatory motion to the hammer for hitting the concave portion of the dent in view of removing the dent, a crack detection sensor to determine presence of cracks over surface of the drum, and a welding unit to perform welding of the cracks, thereby repairing the drum."
