MUMBAI, India, Aug. 1 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202411003688 A) filed by Chandigarh University; and Chandigarh University Technology Business Incubator, Mohali, Punjab, on Jan. 18, 2024, for 'automated road construction assistive device.'

The application for the patent was published on Aug. 1, under issue no. 31/2025.

According to the abstract released by the Intellectual Property India: "An automated road construction assistive device, comprises of a body 1 positioned on a ground surface and installed with a touch interactive display panel 2 accessed by a user to input regarding operations to be performed, an imaging unit 3 to determine location of a vessel in which bitumen is being prepared, multiple wheels 4 to maneuver the body 1 at the determined location of vessel, a viscometer 6 installed on a road to detect viscosity of bitumen, an ultrasonic sensor to monitor stretch of surface upto which road is being constructed in order to evaluate appropriate length on stretch for construction of a speed bump, a tactile sensor to detect hardness of surface and the display panel 2 alerts the user regarding lesser hardness to enable the user to increase hardness of road."
