According to the abstract released by the Intellectual Property India: "An automated resin collection device for balsam fir trees, comprising, a platform 1 positioned on a ground surface grown with balsam fir trees, a touch enabled screes is to give input commands for extracting resin from the trees, an artificial intelligence-based imaging unit 5 for detecting exact location of the trees, multiple motorized omnidirectional wheels 6 for maneuvering and positioning the platform 1 in proximity to each of the trees in a successive manner a hollow pneumatic pin 7 via a motorized two-axis lead screw arrangement 8 for piercing the bulged portion to exact resin, motorized iris pore 9 to open, a suction unit for generating a vacuum pressure for withdrawing the resin and collecting the resin in a chamber paired with the suction unit, and a weight sensor for detecting weight of the resin."
