MUMBAI, India, Nov. 21 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202411025612 A) filed by Shobhit Institute Of Engineering & Technology, Meerut, Uttar Pradesh, on March 28, 2024, for 'automated railway tracks calibration device.'
Inventor(s) include Shikha Chaudhary; Dipika Sharma; Sandeep Kumar; and Rajul Dutt.

According to the abstract released by the Intellectual Property India: "An automated railway tracks calibration device, comprising an extendable platform 1 positioned over a railway tracks by means of plurality of motorized extendable flanged wheels 2, an artificial intelligence based imaging unit 3 determines dimensions of track and accordingly actuates flanged wheels 2 and platform 1 to extend-retract in manner, a touch interactive display panel 4 accessed by a user to provide input regarding requirement of calibration of railway tracks along with distance up-to which railway tracks are to be calibrated, accordingly flanged wheels 2 rotate to initiate calibration of railway tracks, a sensing module monitor traction of railway track and condition of railway track, if inappropriate traction is detected then a robotic gripper 5 grip calibration weights positioned in proximity and position over platform 1 for correcting inappropriate traction and condition of railway track."
