MUMBAI, India, April 20 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202411073957 A) filed by Chandigarh Group Of Colleges, Mohali, Punjab, on Sept. 30, 2024, for 'automated racing slick smoothening device.'
Inventor(s) include Dr. Amanpreet Kaur; Dr. Sukhpreet Kaur; Harpreet Kaur; Parneet Kaur; Jatin; and Minakshi Kumari.
The application for the patent was published on April 17, under issue no. 16/2026.
According to the abstract released by the Intellectual Property India: "An automated racing slick smoothening device, comprising a C-shaped vertical frame 1 positioned on a fixed surface, a cylindrical member 2 engages a racing slick, an artificial intelligence-based imaging unit 3 captures images of the inside of the frame 1, an IR (infrared) sensor monitors the presence of any pointed object stuck in the slick, a speaker 4 notifies the user, a motorized circular sliding unit 5 translates the links 6, heating coil heats the blade 7, an angle sensor monitors angle of the blade 7, an ultrasonic sensor monitors thickness of the shaved layer."
