MUMBAI, India, Jan. 8 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202511105062 A) filed by Vivekananda Global University, Jaipur, Rajasthan, on Oct. 30, 2025, for 'automated protective covering installed device for pipes.'
Inventor(s) include Dr. Mohammad Asif Iqbal.
The application for the patent was published on Dec. 12, under issue no. 50/2025.
According to the abstract released by the Intellectual Property India: "An automated protective covering installed device for pipes comprising a circular platform 101 positioned on a ground surface configured with a touch interactive display panel 102 to provide input command to install a protective covering on pipe, an artificial intelligence based imaging unit 104 to detect exact location of pipe with respect to circular platform 101, a plurality of motorized wheels 105 to maneuver the circular platform 101 for positioning in close proximity to an end of the pipe, a first robotic arm 106 to position a motorized brush 107 in contact with pipe, a speaker 108 to generate audible instructions, a hydraulically operated rod 109 to extend and engage a motorized clamp 110 with the pipe, a laser equipment sensor to detect diameter of the pipe, a pair of robotic grippers 111 to grip the covering and install over the pipe, a tactile sensor to detect hardness of pipe."
