MUMBAI, India, Nov. 28 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202531011903 A) filed by Siksha O Anusandhan, Bhubaneswar, Orissa, on Feb. 12, for 'automated plastic/metallic cans recycling device.'

Inventor(s) include Dr. Premananda Pradhan.

The application for the patent was published on Nov. 28, under issue no. 48/2025.

According to the abstract released by the Intellectual Property India: "An automated plastic/metallic cans recycling device, comprises of a framework 101 developed to be positioned on a ground surface, a touch interactive display panel 103 installed on a first platform 104 configured in the framework 101 for enabling a user to provide input specifications regarding recycling of multiple cans stored in a storage chamber associated with the device, an imaging unit 105 to determine distance of the stored cans from the platform 104, a pair of robotic clippers 106 to grab the cans for positioning on a slot carved on the first platform 104, a metallic plate 107 is installed on the first platform 104 by means of a L-shaped extendable rod 108 for compressing the cans, a motorized hinge joint to provide converging/diverging movement to the plate 107, and a rotatable blade 113 installed on the body 112 to rotate for shredding the cans."
