MUMBAI, India, April 20 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202411073970 A) filed by Chandigarh Group Of Colleges, Mohali, Punjab, on Sept. 30, 2024, for 'automated plastic flakes manufacturing device for recycling purposes.'

According to the abstract released by the Intellectual Property India: "An automated plastic flakes manufacturing device for recycling purposes comprises a body 1 developed to be positioned on a fixed surface, plurality of suction cups are arranged underneath the platform to adhere to the surface, a microphone 2 integrated on the body 1 for enabling a user to provide input voice commands, a motorized flap 3 is installed on outer periphery of the body 1 to accommodate multiple-colored plastic bottles on a conveyer belt 4 integrated in the body 1, an artificial intelligence-based imaging unit 5 installed in the body 1 determine color of the bottles, a robotic arm 6 installed in the body 1 to acquire a grip of the bottles, an ultrasonic sensor determining presence of any accumulated fluid on mouth portion of bottles, and a pair of robotic grippers 8 for positioning brushes on the mouth portion."
