MUMBAI, India, Sept. 26 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202411019371 A) filed by Sanskriti University, Mathura, Uttar Pradesh, on March 15, 2024, for 'automated plant uprooting device.'
Inventor(s) include Dr. Jai Prakash Gupta; and Dr. Sriom.
The application for the patent was published on Sept. 26, under issue no. 39/2025.
According to the abstract released by the Intellectual Property India: "An automated plant uprooting device includes a frame 1 having a proximal and distal end 2, 3, an imaging-unit 5 detects location and kind of plant to be uprooted, an actuator 6 extend/retract for positioning end 3 in proximity to plant, an ultrasonic sensor monitors plant's dimensions, accordingly microcontroller evaluates an appropriate width of ground to be dig, an member 7 expand/contract for getting oriented as per evaluated width, a blade 8 arranged within member 7 and integrated with a drawer arrangement 9 that actuates for inserting blade 8 into surface, a cylinder 12 arranged amid blade 8 and member 7, extends for applying pressure on blade 8, a force sensor integrated on blade 8 monitors force applied by blade 8 on surface, accordingly regulates extension/retraction of cylinder 12, a clamping unit 13 grips and uproots plant from surface."
