MUMBAI, India, Oct. 31 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202411023109 A) filed by Teerthanker Mahaveer University, Moradabad, Uttar Pradesh, on March 24, 2024, for 'automated plant transplantation device.'

According to the abstract released by the Intellectual Property India: "An automated plant transplantation device, comprising a platform 1 positioned over a surface of an agricultural field by means of plurality of motorized omnidirectional wheels 2, a touch interactive display panel 3 enables a user to input intermediate distance to be maintained between plants that are to be planted beneath the mulch sheet along with diameter of the plant, an artificial intelligence-based imaging unit 4 determines dimensions of the sheet, a laser projector 5 projects markings over the mulch sheet where the plants are to be planted, a pair of vertical motorized sliding units 6 positions the shaft 11 over the projected point, plurality of heating units 7 arranged over the ring 12 cuts hole of the evaluated diameter, a robotic gripper 13 positions cut piece in a container, and a robotic arm 8 digs a cavity(s) over the field through the hole(s) by means of a shovel 9."
