MUMBAI, India, Oct. 11 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202411019670 A) filed by Sanskriti University, Mathura, Uttar Pradesh, on March 16, 2024, for 'automated pipes joining device.'

Inventor(s) include Aishwary Awasthi.

The application for the patent was published on Oct. 10, under issue no. 41/2025.

According to the abstract released by the Intellectual Property India: "An automated pipes joining device, comprising a housing 1 positioned on a ground surface and installed with a platform 2 placed with a pair of metal pipes that are to be joined together, a touch enabled screen 3 to give input commands for joining pipes, a camera 4 detecting diameter of each of pipes, a primary telescopically operated gripper 5 for gripping pipes and positioning a free-end of pipe in a cavity 6, multiple telescopically operated links 7 for applying a pressure on free-end via a set of curved-shaped members 8 for decreasing diameter of free-end, a secondary telescopically operated gripper 9 for engaging pipes with each other and placing pipes over platform 2, a robotic arm 10 configured with welding unit 11 for welding pipes with each other, an electronic nozzle 12 for dispensing water within pipes for checking leakage from pipes due to cracks on pipes."
