MUMBAI, India, Sept. 26 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202411020686 A) filed by Shobhit Institute Of Engineering & Technology, Meerut, Uttar Pradesh, on March 19, 2024, for 'automated pipeline repairing device.'
Inventor(s) include Nidhi Tyagi; Varun Bansal; Tarun Kr. Sharma; and Avinav Pathak.
The application for the patent was published on Sept. 26, under issue no. 39/2025.
According to the abstract released by the Intellectual Property India: "An automated pipeline repairing device comprises of a body 1 arranged with multiple rods 2 that provides support to body 1 in proximity to a pipeline, a motorized wheel 3 for providing movement to body 1 on surface, an imaging unit 4 for capturing images of pipeline, a flame torch 5 for blowing flame on pipeline's damaged portion, a first robotic link 6 installed with a cutter 7 for cutting damaged portion, a reservoir 8 for storing an adhesive solution, an electronic nozzle 9 coupled with reservoir 8 for dispensing solution on pipeline, a multi-sectioned chamber 10 for storing different pieces of pipe and a robotic gripper 11 for withdrawing and engaging one of the pipes into the pipeline in order to perfectly repair the pipeline."
