MUMBAI, India, Oct. 11 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202411020059 A) filed by Shobhit Institute Of Engineering & Technology, Meerut, Uttar Pradesh, on March 18, 2024, for 'automated pipe sanding device.'
Inventor(s) include Vinit Vishnoi; Jasvir Singh Rana; Anil Kumar; and Dipika Sharma.
The application for the patent was published on Oct. 10, under issue no. 41/2025.
According to the abstract released by the Intellectual Property India: "An automated pipe sanding device comprises, a circular body 1 configured with a pair of C-shaped extendable members 2 having a first end connected with each other via a motorized hinge 3 to accommodate over a first portion of a pipe that is to be sanded, an acuity laser sensor is mapped on one of the members 2 for detecting diameter of the pipe, a camera 4 mounted on one of the members 2 for capturing multiple images of the pipe, a motorized clamp 5 installed with one of the members 2 for gripping the second portion in a secured manner, a block 7 fabricated with a sand paper 8 configured at an inner periphery of the members 2 via a motorized slider 9 for sanding the pipe, and an electronic nozzle 10 attached with a chamber 11 for dispensing corrosion solution on pipe in order to eliminate detected corrosion."
