MUMBAI, India, Aug. 22 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202411010060 A) filed by Sanskriti University, Mathura, Uttar Pradesh, on Feb. 14, 2024, for 'automated pipe joining device.'

Inventor(s) include Dr. Ashok Kumar.

The application for the patent was published on Aug. 22, under issue no. 34/2025.

According to the abstract released by the Intellectual Property India: "An automated pipe joining device comprises of a pair of hemispherical bodies 1 associated with system and each carved with an opening 2 accessed by a user to insert a free-end of two pipes that user desires to join, an ultrasonic sensor for detecting insertion of ends, a motorized iris lid 3 for securing ends inside opening 2, a touch sensor for detecting attachment of bodies 1 with each other, an electromagnetic patch 4 securing bodies 1 with each other, a microphone 5 for enabling user to input voice commands, multiple telescopic pins 6 for detaching bodies 1, a motorized slider 7 for providing movement to a plate 8 in an upward and downward direction in order to press pipes that restricts passage of suppled liquid."
