MUMBAI, India, Sept. 5 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202441012484 A) filed by JAIN, Bangalore, Karnataka, on Feb. 21, 2024, for 'automated pipe joining device.'
Inventor(s) include Dr. Beemkumar Nagappan.
The application for the patent was published on Sept. 5, under issue no. 36/2025.
According to the abstract released by the Intellectual Property India: "An automated pipe joining device, comprises of a platform 1 positioned on a fixed surface, a pair of suction cups 2 for affixing the platform 1 over the fixed surface, a pair of double-layered rings 3 constructed with a first and second layer, are inserted with pipes to be joined, a pair of L-shaped telescopically operated to extend/retract for horizontally aligning the pipes, a touch enabled screen 5 to give input commands for joining the pipes, a laser acuity sensor for detecting diameter of the pipes, a motorized iris lid 6 to close for gripping pipes, an artificial intelligence-based imaging unit 7 for detecting alignment of the pipes, a pair of L-shaped telescopically operated links 9 to extend for positioning the plates 8 in contact with free-ends of the pipes, and heating unit arranged with each of the plates 8 for heating the plates 8 to join pipes."
