MUMBAI, India, Sept. 12 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202411012977 A) filed by Chandigarh University; and Chandigarh University Technology Business Incubator, Mohali, Punjab, on Feb. 22, 2024, for 'automated pipe cutting device.'
Inventor(s) include Inderjeet Singh.
The application for the patent was published on Sept. 12, under issue no. 37/2025.
According to the abstract released by the Intellectual Property India: "An automated pipe cutting device, comprising a housing 1 configured with multiple rods 2 supporting the housing 1 on surface, a telescopic plate 3 attached with housing 1 for accommodating a pipe, an ultrasonic sensor 4 mapped on the housing 1 detecting pipe size, a weight sensor 5 and optical sensor 6 installed on the plate 3 detecting weight and pipe material, a pair of electromagnetic blocks 7 assembled on plate 3 securing the pipe, an expandable conical shaped member 8 attached with housing 1 increasing/decreasing size of member, a hydraulically operated bar 9 arranged between the member and housing 1 and affixed with a telescopic blade 10 to retract the blade 10 for cutting the pipe and multiple suction units 11 arranged on the plate 3 for affixing pipe."
