MUMBAI, India, Aug. 1 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202411006597 A) filed by Chandigarh Group Of Colleges, Mohali, Punjab, on Jan. 31, 2024, for 'automated pipe bundle wrapping device.'

Inventor(s) include Dr. Sukhpreet Kaur; Dr. Gagan Jindal; Amitabh Sharma; Anjali Goyal; Anand Dua; and Dr. Sanjeev Kumar.

According to the abstract released by the Intellectual Property India: "An automated pipe bundle wrapping device comprises a frame 1 having a platform 2 developed to be placed on a ground surface, a robotic arm 3 to grip one of the stored pipe bundles, an artificial intelligence based imaging unit 4 for capturing multiple images of the platform 2, multiple hydraulic operated clamps 5 to acquire a grip over the bundle in order to uplift the bundle from the platform 2, a vertical member 6 configured with a pair of semi-circular rings 7 via a motorized sliding unit 8 for encircling the bundle, an electromagnet 13 to affix the rings over one another, a motorized roller 9 wrapped with a wrapping sheet, a motorized clipper 10 configured via a motorized circular slider 11 for winding the sheet around the bundle, and multiple motorized bearings 12 for providing rotatory movement to the bundle."
