MUMBAI, India, Oct. 11 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202411020128 A) filed by Chandigarh University; and Chandigarh University Technology Business Incubator, Mohali, Punjab, on March 18, 2024, for 'automated pipe aligning device.'

The application for the patent was published on Oct. 10, under issue no. 41/2025.
According to the abstract released by the Intellectual Property India: "An automated pipe aligning device, comprising a platform 1 positioned over a ground surface by means of plurality of motorized omnidirectional wheels 2 arranged beneath the platform 1, a touch interactive display panel 3 installed over the platform 1 to provide input regarding alignment of the pipe with a conduit positioned in proximity of the frame, an artificial intelligence-based imaging unit 4 determines dimension of the pipe, a pair of C-shaped members 5 by means of a pair of vertical shaft 6, a motorized sliding unit 7 installed with each of the shaft 6 and configured with the members 5 to provide translation to the member, an ultrasonic sensor to monitor distance of the conduit from the platform 1 and an L-shaped hydraulic rod 9 unit to extend in view of translating the gripped pipe in proximity to the conduit for aligning the pipe with the conduit."
