MUMBAI, India, Aug. 22 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202411010038 A) filed by Sanskriti University, Mathura, Uttar Pradesh, on Feb. 14, 2024, for 'automated pill dispensing device.'

Inventor(s) include Dr. Meenakshi Pachauria.

The application for the patent was published on Aug. 22, under issue no. 34/2025.

According to the abstract released by the Intellectual Property India: "An automated pill dispensing device includes a body 1 assembled with a multi-sectioned chamber 2 stores various medicated pills, an opening 3 for enabling a user to refill chamber 2, a display panel 4 to input regarding prescription and dosage, a first gripper 5 for withdrawing and placing pills form chamber 2 to a tray 6 attached with body 1 and in case a half-dosage, first gripper withdraws and places pills on a platform 7 detected by a weight sensor, two bars 8 arranged on platform 7 for extending to grip pills on platform 7, a pusher 9 suspended above platform 7 extends to cut pill in equal pieces via plate 10 as per prescription, a second gripper 11 arranged on platform 7 for gripping pieces and positions over tray 6 followed by withdrawing and inserting remaining pieces back inside chamber 2."
