MUMBAI, India, Jan. 9 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202511117045 A) filed by Vivekananda Global University, Jaipur, Rajasthan, on Nov. 25, 2025, for 'automated piers joining device.'

Inventor(s) include S. V. H Nagendra.

The application for the patent was published on Jan. 9, under issue no. 02/2026.

According to the abstract released by the Intellectual Property India: "An automated piers joining device comprising, a housing 101 positioned on ground surface near to piers whose extended rebar are to be coupled together, a multi-sectioned chamber 102 storing multiple sleeves, collar and rings of different dimension, an imaging unit 103 to detect dimension of rebar, a pair of robotic grippers 104 grab fastening component and insert in each rebar of a first pier, a speaker 105 notify user to align rebar of second pier, a pair of robotically operated arm 106 attached with a plate 107 for aligning second piers with respect to first piers, further the grippers 104 position rings on point of contact of rebar in order to engage the collar in the rings, a pair of hydraulically operated gripping unit 108 grip the sleeves and crimp over the collar, by exerting force on sleeves to join rebar together."
